2D Simplification of Customer Acquisition Channels

A few years ago, I volunteered to help a health and wellness startup in increasing their sales.

I approached the problem by trying to understand

  1. what is the startup doing to acquire customers right now?

  2. where do most of their customers come from right now?

  3. what are the possible channels out there?

  4. which of those channels would apply well for this company in this industry in this location etc.?

One way I simplified the landscape of channels out there was to visualize them on a 2D grid.
